Parks of Algiers Point
Confetti Park was the site of Algiers’ first firehouse, built in 1851. Verret at Pelican. It is a favorite of tots all over the neighborhood.
Delcazal Park - corner of Verret, Opelousas and Seguin St. Once an old slave cemetery, the remains were removed in 1916 and the land was donated to the city to be used as a playground. There was a swimming pool on this site as late as 2002.
Although not really a park, the land along the levee is a favorite spot for walking, jogging, and doggie activities.
