Algiers/Canal St. Ferry

Duration: - 5 minutes
Cost:  Free for pedestrians. $1 per car from the Algiers side.
Schedule: First boat  - 6:00 a.m. (Algiers side)  Last boat  - 12:15 am. (Canal St.) (after mdnight)
Leaves Algiers - every 30 minutes on hour and half hour. Leaves Canal St. - every 30 minutes at a 1/4 until and 1/4 after the hour

GPS: 1 Morgan St, New Orleans, LA 70114
Take the Crescent City Connection Bridge over the river. Exit General DeGaulle, right hand option, Turn right, then right again onto L.B. Landry. Follow to the river. Turn left and follow to ferry terminal on your right.   

Parking

ALGIERS: There is a private parking lot just adjacent to the ferry. Because it is a  private lot, they can charge whatever they like. The normal price is $5 flat fee on weekdays but they do charge more for high-traffic days like weekends, Mardi Gras, French Quarterfest, etc.

The streets surrounding the ferry are residential parking with a 2-hour limit for visitors.

Gretna/Canal St. Ferry

Duration - 15 - 20 minutes
Cost - Free for pedestrians. (no vehicles)
Leaves Gretna every hour on the 1/2 hour. Leaves Canal St. every hour on the hour.
Schedule -  Mon. - Thurs.:  6:30 am - 5:30 p.m. Fri.: 6:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. Sat.: 12:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Sun. 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

PARKING LOT: 200 Huey P Long Ave. $5 flat rate for 24 hrs.
PARKING GARAGE: 300 Derbigny St., 0-2 hrs = $5, 2-24 hrs = $7

Directions: Gretna Ferry Terminal

GPS: 1 Huey P. Long, Gretna, LA 70053

From Highway 90, heading East: Exit at Manhattan.  Left to 4th St. Right to Newton St. Left at 1st Street (the river) follow to ferry terminal on right.  From Highway 90, heading West: Exit Lafayette St. Turn right and follow to the river. Turn left at 1st Street and follow to ferry on your right.

Chalmette/Lower Algiers Ferry

Duration - 10 minutes
Cost -  Free for pedestrians, $1 Round trip charged on Westbank.
Leaves Lower Algiers every half hour on the hour and 1/2 hour. Leaves Chalmette every 1/2 hour at 1/4 before and after the hour.
Hours: 6 a.m.to 9 p.m. daily
